Ummmm. This is like the police taking out a crazed sniper (American citizen) who is trying to kill people in the street below.

It is a matter of imminent harm and public safety.

If you have a shot at him - take it.

The police making a decision on the use of deadly force isn't the government sanctioning an assassination.

I'm telling you all, this is a line that ought not be crossed.

Sorry I think you are wrong on this. This is an individual who is illegally mass murdering other U.S. citizens. It does not matter if he is also a U.S. citizen or not. He must be stopped - same as if he was a sniper. Except the sniper only picks them off one at a time and this guy murders en masse with tools of terrorism and wholesale slaughter. It is exactly the same as a policeman taking down someone who has been firing live ammunition and killing people in a public setting.

It is not an "assassination" if the person is actively attacking our citizens. It is warfare, self-defense and justice.

I'm not defending what this guy is doing. He is a little jihadist taking advantage of mentally disturbed people by getting them to carry out acts that he doesn't have the guts to do himself.

I get all that.

What you don't seem to be understanding is that this sets a precedent that can then be used later as justification for other ruby ridges and wacos.

Getting labeled a terrorist isn't all that hard to accomplish these days. I suggest you be careful of what you wish for.

It is not merely a label as terrorist when the guy is positively linked to the 911 attacks and the shootings at Fort Hood and the recent Times Square bombing. He has been demonstrated beyond the shadow of a doubt to be an enemy at war with the U.S. and this is different from those who merely dissent.

I have no fear whatsoever of there being any serious confusion between terrorists and people who are merely vociferously voicing a viewpoint that conflicts with current political policy.

Militant Islam is at war with us. Our government and our military is obligated to defend us.
