The law of attraction:
"That which is like, unto itself is drawn." (Esther and Jerry Hicks) ********************* How to be the creator of your life: (Bob Proctor) You simply must Decide what it is you want..... Ask, believing that you will receive it.... and then Open up and gratefully receive it. If it’s as simple as that, why aren’t more people wealthy, even gratified about the shape their lives are in? Well, most people don’t take personal responsibility for their present results. They honestly believe the cause of their current results lies outside of themselves, due to conditions or circumstances they have no control over. Most people are ignorant of one very important law of life – the Law of Attraction: You attract to you everything that is in harmonious vibration with you. ********************** My exploration into these ideas asks the question: How does the law of attraction, and the law of non-resistance work together? Non-resistance = Accepting the truth of the situation so you can move forward. Law of attraction = Thinking about what you want (or intend) instead of thinking about what you don't want or dwelling on appearances or "what is" by your definition. So these two laws may seem to conflict. Here is an example: A person wants to be thin but they are overweight. Truth of the situation: I'm fat. What I desire: To be thin. So, do I accept the truth of the situation and try to be happy, or do I resist and feel unhappy? Here is what you should do: 1. Accept and acknowledge the truth of the situation and realize that this can be changed. Find out how to change it. Believe that it can be changed. 2. Then THINK about being thin. Think about what you want. Don't keep thinking "I am fat, its hopeless." Start thinking, "I am thin and getting thinner. After all, thin and fat are relative perceptions. Compared to some people, I am thinner and compared to other people I am fatter. Then keep your mind focused on health, healthy eating, etc. and all the while knowing that you are the creator of your life and that what you think about will come to be. *********************** Its all about accepting the things that we cannot change and changing the things we can. And the wisdom to know the difference. |

If you don't like the results in your life, you need to change your thoughts. That's ALL that the Law of Attraction is about. Makes sense to me, but why call it the "Law of Attraction"? Why not just call it the "Law of dedication, discipline, hard work, and determination". I mean really. |
