The high school cliques here used to be much more noticeable. Now it doesn't seem like they're around much these days. When I first joined it was very difficult to be accepted by one particular group of members. The tone you speak of, Emily, and some of those members are not active anymore or rarely active. I also feel the clique stigma is gone from Mingle. There are some members who won’t reply to a post I’ve made in their topics or who flat out ignore me but I don’t think that is a “clique” issue; they probably just don’t like me.  I like the addition of the “New Member” forum. It makes it easier for new members to introduce themselves and warm up to forum posting.  i can't imagine anyone not responding to your comments, you post such wonderful comments. roko |

There are always going to be groups of friends who stick together and just chat with each other, but yes, cliquishness seems to be gone these days. That's definitely a good thing. I also don't understand how anyone would not like you, Melody! I don't understand how anyone wouldn't like Melody either...what's not to like???? I don't understand how anyone would not like any one here really. Sure, some post things that we don't agree with and maybe in real life they would be one we wouldn't hang with but beyond that, what do we have to make judgment calls on? I suppose friendships made off the site...more of private emails, phone calls and such. Then it becomes really easy to gossip and make judgments based on hearsay...which I know for a fact has happened. Unfortunately I know first hand and there are some who just don't like me...I can't defend myself if I don't know what I have been accused of. It sucks since all I have attempted to do here is share a message of love...but we all get to decide for ourselves. |

oh i didn't mean YOU in my post, but rather the girl you were speaking of. there's always someone talking about cliques. Fair enough. Just really wanted to insert my Groucho Marx joke. There just seems a little cattiness lately. Feel free to discuss....  Really? I've noticed it a lot less lately! I do agree with this. It kept me from posting on here for awhile. I guess I just hate all the BS. Don't get me wrong I personally don't give a chit but damn...........

Roko, Lori and Emily - thank you!  Emily and Lori, you are both right that anyone who decides not to like another based on their forum posts alone isn't worth a second thought. The friendships made off Mingle, and as you said, Lori, via phone calls and personally meeting, allows people to connect on a deeper more personal level. FB has helped me get to know my Mingle friends even more too!  Mingle is a more open and fun place to gather now! Yayy!

I remember when I first started posting on the forums. A girl I can't remember observed "Oh my god mingle has Cliques". She seems like a genious at this point. Any thought? Is this online high school?.......... There was a time -- and this was a very long time ago -- when there were definite cliques here. Over time, the number of cliques declined, and, for some time, there were just a few, and they only posted in certain forums. The cliques were fairly easy to spot because some of their threads would go on for 47 pages and the same 6 people would make all the posts. Any time an "outsider" tried to chime in, he or she would be vigorously ignored. But I don't even see that here anymore. The people who were what you might call the "clique leaders" seem to have left the site, by one means or another. Now, I think you see certain people who tend to post in the same threads a lot, but without the "cliquy" aspect -- I don't see new people ignored the way they used to be.... |

You know, awhile back someone wrote to me that I had a following on here. Now, I found this to be silly, but this person felt that no one hated me. Now, being blunt here, I don't care if someone doesn't like me. I can't please everyone. I just post what comes to my mind (as dangerous as that is) and let the chips fall where they may. You like it, then yay....Goof loves you. You don't like it.....go choke your chicken. Booyah!!!

when I first started here I noticed there were cliques (didn't really bother me though) People welcomed me into discussions even then, but I did see cliques with others back then. I think it is much more open now. Now everyone join my club Hey don't join her club.......I have a tree house.....hahahahahaha!!!! I have a pool and a slip n slide...take THAT I have a pool w/ a diving board/slide and jacuzzi.......take that, LMAO I have a bong, A big screen, a fat sack of love, AND a twelve pack of Pacifico Clara's on ice and you are not here!
