I am on jury duty now too. The first time I was called in was in February. We had to be there at 8am to watch a video and we were there until about 3pm for jury selection. By the time we were all picked....the guy had actually decided to change his plee to guilty so we never ended up going to trial. Thank goodness because it was a rape case! But as for getting into trouble.....we had 2 older ladies fall asleep and nobody said anything to them. See, when dad got called, they would ask individual jurors their thoughts on hypotheticals. Dad's question was his thoughts on speeding in a school zone, specifically a high school. Dad told them if a high schooler didn't know how to cross the street at that age, then they probably deserved to be hit. Needless to say he didn't get picked. |
