KANSAS CITY -- Prom is supposed to be a memorable night for high school students. But for one Missouri great-grandmother, this prom is one she’ll never forget.

Meet Hasselteen Rumba. She’s 90-years-old and says she’s always wanted to go to the prom.

Rumba says when she was younger her parents wouldn’t allow her to go to the prom or even dance.

So when her great-grandson, Ron Blalock asked her to be his date, her answer was yes.

But Blalock can’t take all the credit. Rumba’s activity director at Independence Care Center told all the residents there to come up with a bucket list-a list of things the residents there wanted to do before they die.

It just so happens that two of Rumba’s were to dance and go to the Prom.

Rumba says she doesn’t have anything else on her bucket list right now because she figures she’ll have to take some time to recover from accomplishing this one.
