The part that people mentioned about keep moving is more crucial to dieting than most realize. Walking and yoga are a couple of the best exercises to do even when not dieting to keep the weight off or get it off.
I walk daily at work 4-5 hours moving, when not working was walking the dog, we saw the whole neighborhood, could draw you a map, but my weight stayed way down. In the summer when the heat went up to the 120's and it was too hot even late at night to walk is when the weight comes on. And the point is to change the lifestyle. Never diet anymore but when starting to put on 4-5 lbs change to apples, fruit, cut way down on fats. Thats the pratical safe way to eat anyway, but. The longer it takes to come off the longer it will take to come back on. Good luck, I hate the weight game too!

Good point, mikey. If you have a dog that needs to go out in the morning, then that usually is a good motivator for you to go out and start your day with an A.M. walk. It gets awfully cold here in Denver at least in the winter months in the morning, that's why I dread going out in the mornings then. But in the spring and summer, it is quite enjoyable.

People will hate me for pointing this out......people who drink diet anything NEVER lose weight. (I am referring to serious weight....not 2lbs after a power dump). If you work like a slave in a cotton field you will lose weight. What you ingest is incedental to a point.

Eating what you know is right, not gorging on what you know is wrong and working out till you hate it is exactly what sheds weight.

Other than that, we wait for the magic pill that does everything for us.

One thing I have come to be very aware of is sodium. It is incredible how much sodium is added to food.Try to always eat ur fruits and veggies fresh-not out of a can or frozen. It was a real eye-opener.U could be holding onto pds and retaining water becuz of this.

I know that it was another fad yet this one really helped me. I switched to green tea, iced actually in the summer and it really does curb your appetite, gives a calming dort of energy and is full of really good stuff. I got the mango flavored, sweeter with no sugar or chemical. Just a added thought. Alos if you're not into yogas, and i don't have time for it alot, good stretching is crucial to keep the lactose moving through your body and cleaning away the debri your body is getting rid of. (esp during losing weight)

I had a cousin once who was so fat he couldn't find 'himself' to take care of his wife. So he goes and sees a Dr. and explains his problem.
The Dr. says he needs to diet............my cousin says "What color do you think would be best?"

The essential keys to sustained weight loss are eat less, exercise more.
