Bring her to my place and teach her to play an instrument (I play several) if she doesn't know how, or jam for fun if she plays already. I've never tried this, so I thought I'd run it by you ladies to see what you think first.

Well I would say for a first day you should probably take her out.
But if she expresses an interest in learning an instrument it would be a great idea. Be sure you have good drinks and snacks to offer her

I agree with Jill that as long as it's not a first date (ask if she is comfortable at your house) - and she has an interest in music - that it could be fun. Of course, I can't image you dating someone that ISN'T interested in music.
Dating is so wide open to ideas. I think it's great you are thinking outside the box. Dinner and a movie is sooooo 1985!!

Share your beautiful heart and brilliant mind with what's
important to you, but ditto to what some other's said, if it's a first date they might not feel comfortable going to your place. Maybe bring a tape and play it for them? Maybe for a second date arrange for more, such as trying their hand with the instruments if they show interest.

If she has an interest in music & already knows how to play I'd say yes. If you plan on teaching her, etc then I'd say no. Because men seem to have this habit of droning on & on about their hobbies while the womens rolling their eyes wishing they'd shut the "f" up!! Also, whenever I've had a man try to teach me anything they get very intimidating when they keep correcting me telling me to "do it this way". JMHO
