Over the summer i went to New York City and went to the World Trade Center site now known as ground zero. Nothing could have prepared me for that first view of the scale of the destruction i saw on the other side of the security fence. Some reconstruction work has been done but most of the site looks just like it did the day the last scrap of debris was removed. The most Profound part of the experience was the feeling of being in a cemetery of 3000 unmarked graves. A slight trace of WTC dust still blows around the site in the small gusts of wind off the hudson river. All of this creates a site where the highest level of respect must be shown. I did this and therefore i hope all visitors from the day after the attack to the end of time do the same.

I was on the east coast when it happened and I went to visit 4 yrs later.. It was a devastating event that will always make me choke up.. I had a hard time looking at the gigantic empty space...
