"Saddam Hussein, the president of Iraq from 1979 until 2003, has gained international notoriety for torturing and murdering thousands of his own people. Hussein believes he ruled with an iron fist to keep his country, divided by ethnicity and religion, intact. If we want respect to live here as we see fit shouldn't we give the same? The people of Iraq did not ask us to help them from Saddam so we were wrong to assume they wanted it. They couldn't ask for help, they were being raped, tortured then put in mass graves. It was our duty as human being alone to go over there and stop the genocide and take out one of the most evil men in the world and one of the worst war criminals since Hitler.

Israel did not come about because of invasion and there never was a "palestinian state" in transjordan or the ottoman empire... there is no excuse for bus bombings, indiscriminate rocket launches at civilian targets, cafe and marketplace and subway bombings, teaching hate to elementary school students, recruiting suicide bombers from grieving families, paying people to blow innocent people up, and killing and torturing your political enemies.... just saying... sorry slowhand this is the Iraq war thread. I do not think their were many suicide bombings in Iraq untill we illegaly invaded it. Its unfortunate to say this but with all these civilian deaths I am sure most the Iraqi people feel they were better off under Saddam. If we illegailly invaded Iraq then start putting people on trial...... Oh that's right we cant and will never happen because it wasn't an illegal invasion. Oh but it was. We had to prove to congress that Saddam was an imminent threat to us on our home land and that he had weapons of mass destruction. Neither has been proven to this day. We illegally invaded Iraq. Now, when asked if they were going to press charges for the illegality of the war both Obama and Pelosi said no, they will not pursue it. But the illegality is there.

Realy now why were these people not killing each other or suicide bombing when Saddam ran Iraq? any idea? Saddam was supposed to have been such a horrible man, by your logic these same people should and would have been doing this while he was running Iraq. They hate us so bad they are willing to suicide bomb to get rid of us. Probably just as y ou would do yourself if our country fell under occupation. Do some people just post moronic responces to stir the pot or do they realy believe this stuff inside? I lost all hope of this war being over when Pelosi refused to prosecute Bush/Cheneye for war crimes. Both parties are to blame for this mess, this self infliced wound on our country. Its just an excuse to raid our taxes and hand that cash over to the fat cat defence contractors. I totaly think this country is screwed no matter who is in the White house.
