Hey, I'm looking for a nice guy in the Columbia/Howard County area of
Maryland. I just kinda got to this site after having no luck on OKCupid, because every guy seems to want to either be an asshole or a creep. I'm not looking for casual sex, but an actual relationship. Anyone interested? |

I'm nowhere near Maryland, but whoooooo, are you ever right on the money
about OKC! I met someone from there last year and it was a train wreck.... Now I just like the matching questions and the occasional test, but the people there all belong in a spaceship headed for the sun. |

Yeah, they're pretty much just ****s over there. I dunno why. Probably
because they're disgruntled about not having been laid in six years or something and now have to resort to propositioning girls online. |

The thing that struck me about that site was that they really did have
some decent features -- the tests, the matching questions, the blog, the search options (I really had fun searching by Enemy Percentage, I found one girl who was 0% friend and 86% enemy) -- I even wrote a test for them -- it didn't do much, I think 48 people took it -- But the e-mails I would get there! It was like everyone was using the same template form. And then I would look at their profiles and it was all so unbelievably cookie-cutter. And about 3/4 of the time, they would start asking questions that just proved that hadn't even read my profile all the way through -- Good concept, extremely poor execution, but only because of the membership.... JSH is different in that you can really get to know people, over time, through their forum postings. The problem with a static profile is that it's very limited in scope, and people tend not to change/update them very often, if at all. I think forums allow for a more immediate and broader-based arena of interactions. I don't know if you've tried using JSH's search parameters yet, but you can narrow down your search area and maybe locate some Maryland people that way! It's worth a shot, anyway! |
