how old is too old or too young for dating each other...is there a certain distance between age that is right, whether the woman is the older one or the male is the older on in the relationship? would love to hear opinions on this

I feel that each individual situation is unique. Age is pretty much just a number. It's the maturity level that I personally look for. A large age gap may work for some; not so much for others. Very hard question, but a good one! flowerforyou smokin drinker

the best one ive heard so far is this girl that said that she figures it out this way....you take your age, divide by two and add seven...thats as young as you should go...sounded kind of interesting...but is that right?

I'm finding out. Quite late in life that

it really does not mean all that much really!

It's the maturity of those involved I'm finding out

I still think though that it really should not matter except to the two involved

it's still a learning process for me!!

Not a bad start! Being that my son is 16, that formula would certainly work for me, only I would add more than seven in my situation. Maybe like 12. flowerforyou

And I do the same. It's like Tammy said, it's really the individual and not the number. flowerforyou smokin

some people i ask this say that you should stay within 5 years of your age...that just sounded a little to constrained for me

Sounds a little too strict to me, too. I mean, what if your dream girl is six or ten years older or younger than you? You know what I'm saying? I would hate to see you, or anyone, miss out because of a number. smokin flowerforyou

Well, my men keep bein' younger than me ... since I was 27 ... They were always older before then ...

My line of demarcation is that they could not have been conceived by me, I could not have been concieved by them ...

More simply put, not more than 12 years younger; it would so creep me out to think he could have been my son!

In his case?

laugh ... Well, yanno, whenever he was ripe and ready to knock someone up...

Thats a really good question that I have often wondered about.I haven't dated anyone older than me in a very long time. I do believe that maturity doesn't always have a lot to do with actual age. I guess it all comes down to the connection u share with someone,if it is strong then age shouldn't matter.

I have to agree pretty much with what Jen said. I think it depends a lot on the maturity level & in my case if they are anywhere near my kids ages then they are off limits. But, that's just me. I've recently been with a guy as young as 32 & he's mature for his age & doesn't seem too young although I prefer a little older.

Hmmmmm, I use a simple formula. Subtract the age of the person you are looking to be with from your own. Add 10. Multiply by 4. Reverse the two digits of the product then divide by pi.

Once you've done all this sit down have a glass of wine and say to yourself "I'll do it if it is legal, feels right, and works for the two of us."
