Topic: What is the purpose of posting?

I have been a member of Mingle 2 for a number of years. I have made over 200 posts but no one wants to get to know me. I know I've been negative at times but I am a nice guy. I have tried to help others and yes one or two have talked to me. I just feel no one cares or wants to get to know me. I would like to make a true friend. I am 62 years old and have been a widower for 21 years this month

you're too uptight man. just join in and try to have some fun, joke around, be silly, whatever it takes. soon you'll start to relax feel comfortable posting. hell, look at me..I'm about as shy as a person can get...well, maybe not anymore

I think you have gotten past that! It's true Kiteman--just relax and have fun. After reading your profile I can only say that since you are seeking marriage, it may scare alot of women our age off. the point of posting is to socialize... by socializing people get a chance to see what kind of personality you have... if they like it and are attracted they will let you know... be kinda strange to walk up to someone that glanced at you and ask why they arent talking to you.... relax, patience, and show them WHO you are...good luck my fellow human

I am just having a problem with people taking the time to get to know me. maybe its your shyness preventing people from speaking to you in more depths . if this not the case i suggest you make your page more informative in doing this you express how you feel ,what you want from a friend etc etc upon reading stuff you write your friends or onlookers will know exactly what you want and they will deliver accordingly

Have to agree, you need to reach out & keep doing it. "People don't care what you know, till they know that you care." Just start conversations & keep them going. Lighten up.

Yeah look at all the post we've made to get to know each other. I just kept posting in threads that I wanted to be in and after they got to know me better we got closer. You've been on here how long and look how many times you posted and how many times were those positive posts. Better to be a example in what you want to see out there than complaining. Hugs guy don't mean this in a bad way just hope it helps you to relate. You get what you give, so to say.
