Land of lives past lived,,lands of lives that gived.
Many spirits float here everyday, knowing no other way. This Cherokee Nation land of the forgotten Indian Tribes. Who had this land way before we even knew about their lives. Driving across Oklahoma today,,this feeling of that time. When life was so simple, and only dark skinned people. Hunting, fishing, everyone had a job to do. Skins to be washed and dried, fires made to cook and warm to. Never fights over rights and wrongs, and evenings with their dance and songs. A family who loved and died for each other, Every women there, ready to be any baby's Mother. Every man was, every man's Brother. A time of Peace and bliss, That real memory, will forever be a miss. As this lands sun fades into the night. I picture them all standing still, in their dim-glow light. Looking at all these changes, of what was their sacred land. Seeing US ALL busy, killing, raping, stealing, all by our hand. Take me back to when life was sweet, When we all went around with bare feet. Where Mother Earth was praised and treated well. Not like it is NOW, just a ground under a living Hell. Sorry but its just a shame, that to so many, Cherokee is JUST ANOTHER name!!! |
