Nyte is correct. However its better under the broiler. Just don't get it
too close and keep an eye on it. My favourite steak seasoning is
monteral( canidan ) steak seasoning from mc cormick.

Rib eye is my favourite. Resturants usually use a flame grill not a
stove or oven.

Marinate and all that jazz.

Then you sear it on the outside at high heat until it's nice and crispy
brown.

Let it cool for 15 minutes.

Cook in oven at 250 degrees until the internal temperature (use a meat
thermometer) reaches the desired wellness.

Rare - 120°F
Medium Rare - 125°F
Medium - 130°F

This cooking method ensures that the outside is seared and the inside is
basically your choice (rare, medium rare or medium) all the way through.
Otherwise you have layers of wellness from sear > medium > medium rare >
rare in the same steak, which doesn't look or taste that good.

Oh, when you sear it, make sure you apply salt to the side right before
it goes on the heat. Always right before.
