Don't you just love drug side effects? Here's one for Chantix, a smoking cessation pill:
"Serious neuropsychiatric events, including, but not limited to depression, suicidal ideation, suicide attempt and completed suicide have been reported in patients taking CHANTIX. Some reported cases may have been complicated by the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal in patients who stopped smoking. Depressed mood may be a symptom of nicotine withdrawal. Depression, rarely including suicidal ideation, has been reported in smokers undergoing a smoking cessation attempt without medication. However, some of these symptoms have occurred in patients taking CHANTIX who continued to smoke. All patients being treated with CHANTIX should be observed for neuropsychiatric symptoms including changes in behavior, hostility, agitation, depressed mood, and suicide-related events, including ideation, behavior, and attempted suicide. These symptoms, as well as worsening of pre-existing psychiatric illness and completed suicide have been reported in some patients attempting to quit smoking while taking CHANTIX in the post-marketing experience. When symptoms were reported, most were during CHANTIX treatment, but some were following discontinuation of CHANTIX therapy. These events have occurred in patients with and without pre-existing psychiatric disease. Patients with serious psychiatric illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder did not participate in the pre-marketing studies of CHANTIX and the safety and efficacy of CHANTIX in such patients has not been established."

I wish I could stay, and I would if I didn't have to get up early,
but it's almost 2 here, and I have to get up at 7 to take my poochie to the vet, then run about 20 other errands tomorrow, sorry.

I had to go to the hospital from that drug.... Migraine for 10 days...2 intravenous morfeen and another drug didn't get rid of it.3rd drug.. I stumbled out and slept and finally the pain went away......never agian..will go cold turkey like in the past..when I'm ready..and I'm not ready.... |

Pharmas have a big hold on people's wallets too. Big money to be made on all those pretty little pills we take. And many if not most keep you dependent on the drug. They will not cure you, they just tell you that you need to keep taking it to relieve your symptoms. How about a cure, with no side effects? Then it gets really tricky when you take more than one kind of pill for more than one kind of physical sickness or condition, and you have to worry about crossover effects when certain drugs interact with each other.
