I have a WalMart story too...

I was going down to stay with my mom last night and go hiking with her and a group of hikers this morning. I put my hiking boots in a plastic bag on Thurs. night since they were dirty and grabbed them on my way out the door Fri. I wore my socks to Mom's car and went to put my shoes on and lo and behold, I had grabbed two left feet, two different pairs of hiking boots. So we thought we'd try stopping at WalMart on our way. We had only 10 minutes. We couldn't find the shoe department, so I stopped to ask an employee. She pointed me in the right direction, then called security, who comes over and says we can't have you here without shoes. Here we are in the shoe department as he's telling me this. I had to tell him I forgot my shoes and that's what I'm IN here for in the first place! slaphead laugh

And the best part of my story? They didn't have a single pair in my size, so I ran back out in my socks and ended up wearing my mom's too-big golf shoes for an 8+ mile, approx. 2000 foot elevation gain hike! laugh laugh

I got trapped in a riot on Black Friday in the Walmart in Westminster, CA about 5 years ago. People were getting trampled, little kids were screaming because they were torn from their parents grasp, people were climbing the shelves in the electronics dept and throwing merchandise. A good time was had by all. Maybe not as crazy as the kite flying thing, but we had more police, ambulance, and firetrucks.

Good thing I'm not a petite woman and used to play ice hockey. It was narly. There was no saving anybody cuz the herd just shoved you forward. I do get kind of claustrophobic, and I don't like strangers touching me--especially the full body press--unless their cute...and male. The goal was to stay on your feet so you didn't get trampled.
I was pissed.
I spent the whole night lying on the sidewalk waiting for the place to open, and then I didn't get any of the things I had come to get.

OH! I see,,well,,ME,,,I would of got the **** kicked all out of me,,,as I would have been diving for any CHILD who was laying or fallen,,,Hell I know that as I once jumped a damn train,,to save a drunken old man,,who I have no-idea who he was,,,,lol
BUT,,I got him and me OFF THE TRAIN,,w/o imjury,,,PEOPLE,,,
He was NOT going to wait for it to pass,,,so he was at the crossing a good five minutes before I happened to walk up to it and all the autos waiting for it to pass,,,started honking at me and pointing to the drunk who was NOW inside one end of a train car,,,so I jumped on and got nhim away as it was very slowing passing,,,STILL have no idea who he was,,,,lol

That's sounds exciting. I actually couldn't move at all. It was all happening really fast, too. So, you could hear the kids crying but never saw them. There was no diving anywhere because you have bodies pressed up against you on all sides. You're pretty helpless. I have 3 sons, so I always have a strong instinct to protect kids, but there was no way to do that in this situation.
It was pretty freaky.
