I have recently experienced a most beautiful time spent.
Going back to my hometown and sharing a Birthday event.
Seeing many there from many years gone by,
And then realizing for ten years now,
I haven't really given a try.
Divorced then,,and my life lived, yet, why?
Adrift, alone, and with no cares, just me.
Always present, always happy, yet, never did I see.
I gave away these last ten years,
Now there lost,,,and I feel tossed.
My friends all aged so much, myself as well.
Thinking back that night, To when I first must have fell.
Ten years ago,,,and now to feel I know.
Feeling so single their, that night.
As my friends all still in their paired love flight.
Me wondering where have I been, what have I done.
I've worked, been happy, loving my kids and havig fun.
STILL,, everything seems so wrong, singing a Kareoke song.
Thinking back, when I was a pair, now thinking, why care?
But its THAT thought that made me see,,,,,,,ME.
I might not have another ten years to give away.
So THIS IS MY TIME, MY YEAR, TO BRING ABOUT MY NEW ME, MY NEW DAY!
