Do your research in finding one, personal recommendations are best. But I highly recommend having it done if you're having chronic pain.

I fell off my roof and hurt both my shoulders. For nearly a year I could move my right arm more than shoulder high. Doctor just prescribed pain pills, said there was no lasting damage and nothing he could do. I gave in and had the acupuncture done and an hour later I had full motion in my arm. It came back a little a month later, and I should probably go again, but it has never given me a real problem since.

Oh it's been about 6 years since I fell.

I keep forgetting to try it and my insurance pays for I think 20 visits a year...

The treatment I got was from a guy that was licensed both as a massage therapist and an acupuncturist. It's a really good combination. If you can't find that find one that works with a message therapist.

I"ve not heard of that..

A message therapist can both relax the muscles and help desensitize the skin. Both helpful in keeping the acupuncture from hurting and in it's effectiveness. Or at least that's what he told me and I my chiropractor said pretty much the same thing.
