The one is the Canton Ex-Newsies Association. Ex carriers of the local newspaper The Canton Repository. The members pay dues to be members. They sell a Charity Edition every year in December. Every penny they raise goes to buying school clothes for needy kids.

The other is The Babe Stearn Community Center. When I was a kid Babe Stearn was head of the Canton Police Boys Club which was a Community Center for Boys back in the day.We paid dues according to our ages. The staff were all Canton Police Officers.The Boys Club back in the day was in charge of the Mitey Mite Baseball program. I coached and umpired Mitey Mite Baseball for 22 years. When they built the new Boys Club (which is now The Babe Stearn Community Center) it was set up for being a family type of setting.They charge an annual fee for families. They also started a Basket Ball program which I also coached and refereed in for 10 years.

Thjat is why I stand behind these 2 charities.
