Your apperance is the first impresion anyone gets of you

then afterwards people get to know you and you see if you click or not

I've met beautiful on the outside. Horrible on the inside

I've met what society considers not so beautiful on the outside but so great on the inside that to me they were truly beautiful people:heart:

I pretty much know what kind of outward apperance I'm attracted to

I need to get to know their inside!

I think we all have run into the type of people you talked about. I have made some real good friends and some real close friends. Apperance is not what I pay attention to as friends go. But, I do to an extent in being interested in someone. I think it's how you carry yourself and a lot of the time, a persons attitude. I have met people that have a lot of tatts, a few piercings and are very loving people. Looks does not make a person and I think some people think OMG! they have tatts, piercings this means there all F...up and not worth talking to. These type of people are the ones that need to open there eyes.

I know attraction plays a big part in anyone being interesred in someone. I know everyone has there own preference, but what i'm wondering about and this is for both Men/Women in todays world.
Does long hair compare to short hair make a difference.
Does tattooes, compare to none make a difference
Does piercings compare to none make a difference
If you have to guess, what do you think?

LOVE long hair.
LOVE tatts.
LOVE jewelry on others.
I think men are absolutely drawn to looks first.
I call it eye-dick coordination.
One pings and the other pongs.
Nothing wrong with that unless they stop there.
Women also play ping pong.
But we pretend it is character first :-)

I have to admit first impression has more of a bearing then most are willing to admit.

Tattoos do not bother me but get real if someone showed up the first time and was covered with them then it would cause me to back off if on their face I'm gone. That is if it was a date...

Same with piercings ears fine but now they show up and have more holes then I can phantom or count within a sec I'm gone........

I don't care how intelligent they are that is not for me.

Now just as a friend then no problem does that sound like I'm wishy washy ohhh well at least I'm honest just not someone I would want to date.

Same if they show up and smelled like they have not had a bath in 6 months would I date them hell no and well most likely would not hang around them as a friend unless they agreed to clean up.

First impression can be a kicker.whoa

Just for and example we had a guy that worked for us long hair, tattoo's and would never look at you eye to eye. He kind of shrunk into the crowd he was a great worker just no one paid much attention to him being there. Well we had a change of employees the main foreman was fired the only one that really knew the work well was the one that never got noticed but he was good as what he did. Funny the boss talked to him about the job and he did mention he would have to take more of a stand and be able to talk to others more and present his self to the company. The guy on his own cut his hair. Unbelievable how much of a difference that made he had cataracts on one eye real bad the company owner actually found someone to do the surgery and had his eye fixed come to find out that is why he would not look anyone eye to eye he was embarrassed by the way his eye looked. It did not take long before this guy was taken completely different then he was prior. But just goes to show that first impressions are more of a factor then most want to admit.....

It is true, first impressions are more of a factor then most want to admit. Being on the net is much harder for some.

When I first joined a dating site, one of the first emails I got was somone saying because of the way my pic's looked. That I was lying about my age. Never met this person till that email. So how do they know what kind of life I live or anything to assume what they don't know. I'm sure others have other stories, but pic's stick out more then anythign else.

All those things you listed are a turn off to me. So I wouldn't find them attractive.

I was in a chat room and some guy said women don't care about looks. I informed him he was sadly mistaken. I actually think looks don't matter so much to men seeing as there are quite a few men that will f@ck anything with a hole.

Yeah, I wonder where that rumor came from too, about women not caring about looks. I don't do ugly, no matter how "nice" the guy thinks he is. And you're right, lots of men will bang anything, ewwwww.....

If a man is ugly and stupid, his legs are irrelevant.

bald bikers are sexy also.shades

Looks are just the first of many layers of a person, but if there is not too much underneath that then my interest will fade quickly. The examples given can all be changed easily but a personality can't.

Long hair or short hair doesn't bother me. Ditto with say goatees and a mustache. Beards, especially those who get into wild and wolly instead of neat instantly turn me off.

Tats, done tastefully I like. Naked ladies tats don't do it for me.

Jewelry, mmm, don't care for it on a guy. Makes me think their wishing they were women. I've never even been a big one for the heavier chains around the neck, much less earrings.

Healthy and in decent shape, without going bodybuilder overboard. Beer bellies, man boobs, and pregnant men don't rate a second glance.

Bikers in leather, yummy, men in kilts (with good legs) yummier yet.

And really, with all that there has to be something to talk about. A brain is the biggest turn-on.

<<<Would you date this guy? C'mon ladies, he has a great personality and umm *cough* a big wallet! bigsmile

On a more serious note. I am pretty open minded when it comes to dating. I like short hair, long hair, tattoos, no tattoos, piercings, no piercings, stocky, not stocky...you get the idea. I do like a goatee on a man, but not a necessity. I think there has to be an attraction for everyone, it just varies on what one's idea of what attraction is. My main turn on is a sense of humor. You can be sexy as he11, but if there's no funny it's a turn off.

Yes, it varies person to person.

For me.....I am shallow...I like women who put an effort into being hot. Don't get me wrong...I have done some truly scurvvy dogs in my time....no apologies for it. but, if I am going to devote my time and attentions to someone to try to make her my one and only piece of @ss...it ain't gonna be the dumpy bird in front of me at Wal-mart with sweats, no make up and too damned lazy to run a brush through her hair before piling that rats nest into a half-assd ponytail.
