So this has nothing to do with dating but i thought i would ask and see if it would be moved to the appropriate area..ANYWAYS my mom is really into rocks and gems and things like that and wants to go gem hunting so who ends up doing all the research?!? so i was looking at NC and AL. Any advice on places, acutally mining, etc,etc? Thanks in advance!!

I'm going to watch this one.. I've never heard of being able to go gem hunting anywhere that's not closed off except to those mining them...

I watched a special on TV once talking about MANY old mines that were closed off, and now people can pay like 15.00 afor the day,,and hunt them...
and,,,the same for GOLD in cali somewhere?

But all in all,,,they had like three or four places here in the states where you could go do THIS.....and it would be a hell of a fun week to spend doing it....not to mention the price of GOLD NOW.

I'm not sure, but if you come to Florida you can watch me eat coal and poop diamonds. All I charge is a $10 admission fee, and the diamond prices vary by size....but I promise you one thing, you wont leave empty handed!

my sister used to work with the gem shows
she used to travel with them, and still does every so often
but she started her own business in making neckless, and so forth
she has a trunk show about 3 times a year
she made my mom a neckless one yr that she could had sold for thousands of dollars

my older sister has help out a few times,
i have a gemstones they have given me

my one sister that has her trunk shows, she went to this one gemshow
one yr as i was wanting a crystalball, and she found one for me
and yes its a genunine crystalball

Fly out here to Tucson, we have the worlds largest gem and mineral show in the world going on through February. There are about 30,000 vendors here selling everything you can think of and a whole lot more from all over the world!

if you are really wanting a challenge, you could always dig through the mutual match function...i'm sure there are some hidden gems there.

oh I tried it a week or so ago.. Something like 1300+ MM's, not even sure what that means.. I made it through not even 20 and gave up...
