A 23-year-old woman killed outside her Orlando office by a stalker had asked for a protective order but was denied, MiamiHerald.com reported.

Alissa Branton, 23, reportedly turned in more than 70 pages of documents, some e-mails from the stalker, to a judge. The judge denied the request and scheduled a hearing for next week, Fox2Now.com reported.

Police say Roger Troy, 61, fatally shot Branton and then fatally shot himself in an AT&T call center parking lot, when she returned from her lunch break. Her co-workers placed calls to 911 describing the scene.

"This gentlemen just shot this woman several times, and then he shot himself," said another caller, who was clearly flustered and confused. "Can we tell if they're breathing?" asked the 911 dispatch operator. "Oh my God. I don't know, ma'am. I can't go closer," the caller responds.

Branton and her husband, Brent, both worked at the AT&T building where the shooting happened.

Police say Blanton met Troy when she was working at a Hooters restaurant, MiamiHerald.com reported. Blanton says she stopped talking to him after he began sending e-mails describing personal attacks.

I like how they didn't mention the judges name, how are people supposed to vote against him/her if they don't know who it is? Perhaps the Miami news mentioned it, but my guess is this loser is probably protected by some law.[red]

What a shame. I wish losers like the killer would start with the suicide first.

I worked corrections in Chicago for 8 1/2 years. There's a guy I babysat that is responsible for changing the laws in IL, and maybe some more states. This buttwad beat his g/f to a pulp on a few occasions, and when she filed a restrainging order, he beat her harder. He was finally sentenced to about 20 years total for the evil deeds he did. I hope he gets his fill of cold weather, cuz I know he's going to a VERY warm place when he departs this world. pitchfork

Well the right laws weren't changed for animals like this as far as I'm concerned. I think crimes against humans should be punishable by being sent to a remote area where you must fend for yourself. Given seeds to grow and chickens and pigs to grow and eat all the while spending your life as a recluse away from society, but with people just like em!

I don't understand why the judge wouldn't grant it. Sad thing is, even with a RO, if the person wants to do something, then they will.

Awful thing for someone to go through

It makes me very sad. Shame on the judge for being ambivalent. I've seen enough of how some judges are and one never knows what's up their butts, if they are late for a golf game, got ball-busted by the wife at breakfast.... But, sure enough, a freak sicko wouldn't care about an RO. You just never know when or where you will come across sociopaths, stalkers, psychopaths.... Child molesters could be sitting next to your kid in church, etc. frustrated
Unfortunately, (and I know, Hooters ain't no booby bar or hooker hall), loser whack types tend to find their prey in attractive young women who are too naive to pick up on their smarmy scent and a place like that and worse are prime pickin' places since there are attractive young ladies and they can't get attention any place else. I DO have to wonder how the freaky goon got her email address. Did she give it to him? spock
And, I wonder if that judge has a conscience as he/she has to live with some kind of culpability here.

There was a judge not long ago that did something similar to this and one of the guys from FOX found him in a fast food joint and stuck a microphone in his face and he didn't like it, all "news" agencies should do that EVERY TIME!
