I think they should have had some input from the free sites as well. I agree. I'm working on a book about online dating and from what I've found the free sites seem to have more activity and better quality people. This is probably because there is a greater dating pool to view your profile and contact you. Every site seems to excel in one area that the others don't. I wouldn't think you would find anyone unless you were listed on more than one site. I also find it interesting that the paid sites try to control you more and give you less options to show who you are to other people. Chemistry.com (owned by Match.com) is probably the worst. You're limited to only a few paragraphs and they force you to try to talk with people that you're not interested in. I don't think that Facebook/Myspace are better at anything. I guess it would all depend on the type and quality of person you were looking for. I'm personally not interested in someone who displays gang signs, uses net-speak and has bad grammar.
