"DENVER -- Carmelo Anthony got an unexpected breather in his return from an ankle injury.

Anthony, who missed the previous eight games with a sprained left ankle, scored 19 points before joining other Denver starters on the bench for the fourth quarter as the Nuggets had their most lopsided win of the season, 127-91 against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night."

The Nuggets are on fire, 2nd best in the West with 35 wins, Lakers have 40, and so far this season, the Nuggets have swept the Lakers. I was at the Pepsi center last night and witnessed the biggest blowout this season by the Nuggets against any team this year, a whopping 36 points! Go Nuggets! Can you feel it?

When it counts? The Nuggets have beaten them twice so far this season including last Friday night's victory without Melo. Two more meetings to go. The Lakers aren't as good as they think they are despite their overstaffed dream team. Nugs are 5 games out, and it's only a matter of time before the Lakers are #2. And even if that doesn't happen, the Lakers may fall in the playoffs. The Nuggets won't fall to them this year.

I'm talking playoffs.. That is when it counts.. The regular season doesn't mean anything.. Orlando beat the Lakers twice last year in the regular season and what happened in the finals?

A beatdown..

You have George Karl... who has never won anything as a coach.. And we have Phil Jackson ... nuff said..

If Mo Williams is healthy they would easily beat Denver..

Even with a healthy Williams they don't beat the Lakers..

Usually I would agree, but with Shaq playing better, and continually shedding that belly, if this continues every week all the way to the playoffs they will be unstoppable. He is to good of a defender, passer, and still dominate when within 5ft of the basket.

I have to disagree. They do need to get Delonte back and focused. Cavs are to deep......smokin

Except that they blew it in that Spurs game, and Kenyon Martin was the only Nugget that couldn't play due to tendonitis. Go figure. Denver kills the Mavs but gets embarassed by the Spurs. I don't get it.

Let's see the Cavs beat the Magic then we'll talk about the Lakers vs. the Cavs.
