The most wonderful bundle of joy EVER!

It will be a winding road.

You will be happy, sad, have challenges and overcome them(if you choose to), have bright days and dark ones, smile and cry, BUT all the happy and the bad weigh each other out and nothing could ever make you happier :)

For your own sanity I would suggest trying to take better care of your health. A healthy baby is a lot easier than one born with big problems. A sick exhausted mom is never a good Mother. Same goes for Dad's. Get your shots and watch your weight. Walk together daily. Take your prenatal vitamins; they do prevent birth defects.

One thing pregnancy/labor will do is make you a believer in prayer so give yourself a favor and find your faith family early and keep it going.

If you don't have a washer and dryer get one. Babys have a way of makeing a lot of laundry. A freezer is also a god send because it can save a lot of trips to the grocery. (Habitat for Humanity is a great affordable source and costs pennies on the dollar.)

A baby doesn't need a lot of the stuff you will have people trying to sell you. They do need to be safe, clean, dry, hydrated, nourished, and cuddled a lot but they need their rest and they are not going to get it in your bed or with a blasting TV/stereo. Forget a crib, high chair, and get a good porta crib, Sturdy backpack for a diaper bag, and a comfortable rocker. There is a reason babys like to be rocked their folk's need the time to rest. They are able to communicate with you a lot more than you might think if you just pay attention to their responses, their gestures, and even their crys that can tell you a lot.

All the cutesy clothes will be out grown before they can wear them a half dozen times so buy one nice coming home outfit as a keep sake and get the rest at yard sales and thrift shops. Wash them with a shot glass of dishwasher detergent and most stains will come out. Babys don't need shoes for the first year but toddler tubesocks are great for keeping tootsie and legs warm up to the knees. Do yourself a favor and buy coats with hoods. And track suits that can be comfortable to sleep in when you have to take them between sitter and home. A baby monitor is not needed but a smoke AND CO2 detector are essential. And a safe carseat is the law. A car seat will NOT protect your child from a parent who drinks or texts and drives. If a partner has and anger issue address it early with professional help and one time they lay hands on you leave or write a will and appoint a guardian.
