I saw The Tea Party in '05 opening for Def Leppard. I wasn't too impressed, although the singer did play this one song all on a sitar which was cool.

Def Leppard was awesome though bigsmile

 I like Def leppard too.

So...what does the Tea Party represent to you? I mean...their leaders can't even quote the Constitution correctly.... Those people are pathetic...

It doesn't mean anything to me. What I believe and they believe are quite opposite. However, I don't feel that they should be cast is such a negative light. The problem we have is a 2 party system that does what they can to destroy any kind of 3rd party support.. Today its the tea party tomorrow its someone else. We do not benefit from a 2 party system, because they are essentially the same over spending monarchs that think they are entitled to do what they want.

the extreme left leaning people congregate and associate with left leaning people and can't imagine that there are enough people who disagree with em to matter and they are the fringe lunatic

and in most rural parts of Texas (always excepting Austin) the tea baggers are the rule not the exception and I have to get online to even hear anyone who doesn't agree with it

Well...I understand that and I totally agree with you. All I'm sayin' is that the Tea Party movement is a blatantly manufactured movement of people who are just looking out for their own best interests. They are self-serving and are basically just out for themselves. It's a movement based on mis-information and supported by greed and power mongers. Have you listened to their speeches, man?

Their whole trip is based on instilling fear in rich white people. Those people are completely outta' touch with reality.

I think it was initially manufactured

but the tea bagger thing is morphing to include a lot more of the moderate but conservative

it's becoming more main stream in the midwest and west

I haven't listened to their speeches. I think all political movements are manufactured and out for their own political and monetary gain.

This is a little off topic, but I have to say that these types of people are no different than conspiracy theorists. The easiest way to make money in this country is to write a book about some dumbass theory that you don't have to prove. Its absurd. And it says a helluva lot about why we are where we are..

Again...I agree. Still...I find the whole Tea Party agenda very suspect. Their issues are very vague and convoluted...and I've seen more inconsistency and contradiction in their message than anything else...

In the real world of ideology, you can't mix libertarians with Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity. It just doesn't work, if you want to be credible.

What you don't see are people like me, because I have principles that I won't compromise to get attention.

Sarah's got the teakettle on the stove. MMMM! Here we go!

(CNN) – Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin announced Tuesday she will make appearances at Tea Party gatherings in Nevada and Massachusetts over the next two months.

In a blog post on the conservative Web site Townhall.com, Palin defended her decision to speak at the Tea Party convention in Nashville, Tennessee this weekend and said she looks forward to greater participation with the movement in the coming weeks.

The former Alaska governor said she will be on hand next month for a kickoff rally for the Tea Party Express III bus in Searchlight, Nevada - the hometown of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid who finds himself in a tough re-election battle. Palin also said she will head to Boston in April for a Tea Party meet-up there.

"The process may not always be pretty or perfect, but the message is loud and clear: We want a government worthy of the fine Americans that it serves," Palin said. "And we're going to keep spreading that message one convention, one town hall, one speech and one election at a time."
