I don't know. It's a new thread. Just post any interesting experiences that you've had involving movies... renting, seeing, regarding. Life changing, made your girlfriend cry, got chased down by dogs over type stuff.

I remember being about 13 and going to Blockbuster to rent "The Basketball Diaries"... and this would be a few months to a year after the Columbine massacre.

The girl working asked if I had a parent with me but my dad was drunk out in the car so I said no and went on to tell her all the movies I'd already seen that were way worse than that.

So she says, and I'm not exaggerating, "Well, okay. I'll let you rent it if you promise not to shoot up your school or anything."

Jim Caroll...the great poet who wrote the Basketball Diaries just died recently. He will be missed. He was one of the good one's, man! drinker

That is funny. I just ordered The Basketball Diaries off Amazon.

I took a date to see Pee Wee's Big Adventure, when I was in college.

She didn't know who Pee Wee Herman was, and when we left the movie theater, I think she thought I was gay.

I just found the guy funny, at the time. I can't remember where I had seen him, maybe on Letterman, or something.

She didn't dump me tho. Well, at least not after the movie.

Years later, when Pee Wee got caught wacking his pee-wee in a movie theater, that is how I was probably remembered, by her.

That sucks.

I just saw This Boy's Life. Leo's really talented... especially to be that young and co-starring with De Niro.

I wasn't there for this, which sucks.

A group of five of my friends went to the movies to see... something... Star Wars Episode 3, I think.

In the middle of the movie my friend drops his phone and leans down to get it, and right as the sound drops out my friend slaps him in the back of the head and yells, "*****, don't bite!"

That is a great movie. Not necessarily critically acclaimed, but personally, I think the critics missed out on that one.

I'm willing to check a movie out, even if I have no interest in it, if it has a particular actor or actess I like. DiCaprio and Deniro both fall into that category.

They've both had a few clunkers, but what actor hasn't?

Sorry, offtopic

Naw, absolutely.

Anthony Hopkins is another actor whose movies I will always see even if they look terrible.

Some individuals just have a certain stage presence that is unmistakable.

To try to pull that off takes so much courage and forethought.

I've always assumed it was an urban legend.

That's kinda cool, though... in a really bizarre way. Hehe.

You should have been tipped off when he asked for extra, EXTRA butter.

My 11 th birthday was coming up and all everybody seemed to be talking about at the time was this new movie called "Jaws". I begged and pleaded with my mother to let me go see it for my birthday but she just kept saying " Forget it you'll have nightmares". On my birthday she finally relented and let me, my brother and my best friend go see it. When she droppped us off at the theatre she pulled me aside and said "if you have nightmares I don't want to hear about it". I had nightmares, that was 36 yrs ago and shes still never heard about it.
