Well, because it only serves two purposes. First, to guilt people into spending money they may not have to express their love for someone that they probably express all year long. There's no other reason for it. It's not like Christmas or Easter where there's an underlying message of hope or love for all humanity. It's just...."recognize me on this day or you don't love me".

Then, for everyone who is not currently in a romantic relationship, it makes them feel like crap because they don't have anyone to be romantic with. At Christmas people without family usually get invited to be a part of a friend's family or a party that they can enjoy. But, on Valentine's Day no one gets invited to be a third person at a romantic dinner, right? No, they just get to feel extra lonely.

It's a completely commercial holiday that serves no other purpose but to sell cards and crap.

I'm guess I'm weird then; I've never had a Valentine, and it's never bothered me. I'm always happy when other people are in love and never jealous because I'm not. I've never felt bad when I didn't get flowers, candy, balloons, etc. from a guy, because that's just how it was, you can't miss what you don't have. And if you ever had it and it's gone, no use missing it anyway, won't bring it back.

And if I was in a relationship and didn't get that stuff or couldn't afford to give it, I'd still be okay because love shouldn't be about gifts. But like I said, I'm weird......ah well.

I'm the same way but it does bother me to see countless people feeling extra sad today or seeing my friends who are financially struggling buying candy and flowers. No, they don't HAVE to do it, but they feel pressured to do it. Anyway, that's just my opinion and it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.

Yeah, I've never had anyone to be romantic with, so I can't even comprehend it. That's like asking me what it's like to live in the Taj Mahal......um, never done it, never will, can't miss what you've never experienced.

True... I think that's part of what's so hard for me.. I've had someone that was very romantic and special.. I miss that sometimes...

That might be it. Oh well, none for me. And since I live in the hillbilly capital of the world, none for me evahhhhhh!! Muwhahahahhaahaha!!!

Every day. Won't be possible for a while though. It's not so bad really, gives me a lot to giggle over. I went to Walmart today, always a giggle fest, living here is the best birth control ever.....
