You'll fry your brain trying to figure that one out.

When they think you're gay, you aren't ATTRACTIVE, you're SAFE to play with. They let their guard down, and you interpret that as attraction.

When they find out you are "in disguise," i.e. hanging with gay friends, their guard goes back up. If your attractiveness has declined at all, it would be because they are annoyed at being fooled, albeit unintentionally.

The money part is old and standard. Some simply want your money. but for most it signals that you are capable of caring for a family, showing reliability and stability, etc.

I think I'd play the routine for all it's worth.

Then I'd let them try to "convert" me.
