we are only talking about this because the mayans flip their calendar over, right? they have a system which is based on counting to a certain number, and starting over...again and again. Just like the odometer on a car - one that only has 5 digits just flips over and keeps counting at 100k miles.

rarely do the 2012ers mention this, but (from what i heard) the same culture that created that calendar does predict the end of the universe - at a time later than some physicists predict the heat death of the universe.laugh laugh laugh laugh

So if you believe in the mayan predictions, then you believe that 2012 is NOT the end of the world/universe/time/whatever.

Science says somekind of Galactic Alignment will occur. Something that happens rarely ..the sun will seem to connect with the center of our galaxy(milky way) and something spiritual could happen..enlightement..something like that. For some the day December 22 2012 marks a dark time. The Zodiac in the stars spell out a 13th sign. Ophiucus? The sign of the God/Man holding a serpent above the Dark Circle in the center of the galaxy. Ofcourse..13 is always associated with bad luck/omen. Some believe the day will be a rare moment the Ophicus sign will unleash its wrath on mankind and whatnot.

I'm sure I missed a bunch of info but there's one take.

I am a christian, though tbh not a practicing one. Well I don't go to church. Anyway, I whole heartedly believe it is not the end times as a lot of people have been falsely fooled into thinking...Jesus said only God knows the time and the hr. So I don't believe it for a sec. I used to but then I thought, "where's the trust in God?" I believe Jesus. Now..I do think something significant might happen..but not the end of times. Also, keep in mind if ur christian..shouldn't a bunch of stuff happen first b4 the coming of Jesus? The rebuilding of temple, 7yrs of tirbulation and antichrist stuff...None of that has happened. I've seen videos on the FEMA camps and it makes me uneasy to think about...but 2012 Apocalypse? NO.

This is brilliant. Refuting a mythological argument on the basis of another mythological argument.

Well done.

that even made me laugh
