I just bought my books online for my classes this coming semester, and they came up to $228.65. I'm happy that they are so cheap haha. My books last term were over $700.

I went to sell back those books I bought last term, and for a couple of them they offered me $1 each for them... I sold one for that price because I wrote two papers on that book and I was so sick of it. haha. But the other I kept, because it's a nice Bible and I can sell it for more than just a dollar...

I feel ripped off. :/ I got a whole $33 for my text books I sold back. I had to keep a few of them (two were loose leaf books so I can't sell them back to the store, but I'm selling them to friends who have the classes this term and two were English books I'll be reusing this term).

Gahhh. When did they get to be so expensive?

When? from the year dot!I think universities on the whole rip their students off. I had to buy a single book which cost me £78($126US) at the students bookshop. Then there were academic papers which cost (at the time) £26 or more (depending on the paper) I found biology text books and Biology journals were the most expensive than any other subject. I also had to purchase a liscense for a programme called SPSS, a cool £126 ($203US)

I made an invention to help this a year ago.....but I have never made it..lol

Picture a plastic case,,that opens to be a screen on both sides.
It would be letter sized, like 8 1/2 by 10 1/2 and a simple hard
screen that would show text,,,,just like you have in a real book..
BOTH sides would be BOTH sides or pages of any text book..

It would open like one, read like one,,,but all the paper pages would be in one small chip that pops in the side of it.

THIS is NOT that new heavy small screened book reader they have out..
This is a simple PIC, format of every page in that book..and it
is very light weight and runs in its self,,,not the moble web.
or Internet,,,,every kid and adult could have any book and ALL THEIR BOOKS downloaded to a chip, then you would buy that chip, pop it in down-load it and its all self contained and hold a hundred books,,,all for the price of about fifty bucks,,if it was on a production line,,,,NO MORE BOOKS PEOPLE....

ANY and every book or magizene, could be put on a chip and down-loaded to this cheap and inexspensive device, through OLD technolegies we have had around for ten years...

This thought accured while I had my cell phone,,down-load a screen saver to my phone,,,I thought hey,,,,that took like 2 seconds to get..If a guy had a big screen,,he could get his daily paper shot out to this device everyday,,,no more newspapers to buy or make..
and then I thought of all books...

But the smart peple with their new book readers are very expensive, one screen, and their bulky and easy to drop and brake..

Mine wasn't,,,,,,,wink

They've always been expensive. Once I paid over 100 bucks for one book, for a required class, and the professor was "kind enough" to not make it available in the college bookstore so I couldn't get it with my financial aid, I had to pay cash for it. Isn't education grand?laugh

Sell them online... don't sell them back to the bookstore... you'll make more money back.

and no whining  ... my first semester of graduate school I paided almost $600 dollars for mine... and barely used them! And I spent I don't know how much in printing off articles required for reading.
