I found this thread very educational. I didn't really know what a player was and didn't understand the "not into games" comments either. I haven't played games since middle school. Clue was the coolest. Now I am more into Catchphrase.
Who knew I was a playa.

No, ending a relationship after enough time has passed that you are making the correct decision is not being a player. We have to date and get to know each other...that is what dating is for, wouldn't life be ever so much easier if we only ever dated the 'right' person? You would be a player if while dating (and presumably being intimate) with someone who had every reason to believe you were not seeing (and being intimate with ) anyone else BUT YOU WERE. Players are people who tell you what you want to hear as a way to get what they want. Hope all of these replies answer your second question! okay okay, I get the picture now. But I still think we are looking at it a bit too onesided. Let me explain. As I mentioned earlier I see the "no players please" request in a lot of profiles. Of course I don't look at profiles randomly, but let's not bore you now with my preferences  . So, I guess a lot of women have experience with being played. But don't tell me that the USA is crowded with players. I think we can honestely say that most men and women are descent people. So I assume that there is a gap between feeling to have been played and actually been played. |

I have seen this on a few of the men's profiles and I have to ask this question, who would actually be honest enough to say "oh, I can not contact this person, they don't like players"? I think that we should just tattoo them all and then there will be nothing to worry about.

I read in a lot of profiles that women don't want to play games or are not looking for players. What is that all about exactely? It is as if a lot of women dated "players" before and don't want that anymore. Is a player someone who doesn't take a relationship seriously or is there more to it? What makes a man a player? And why is it such a big deal? I have seen this on many profiles not just women... I have to laugh since if someone was a people game player wouldn't that just challenge them more? I honestly don't beieve in the word Player for male or female for the most part. Since most of the time when we feel we got played was because we didn't listen close enough to our guts. I for one love to play games, I am a video gamer, board gamer etc. |

A player to me, either male or female.
Someone thats after,sex,material things,or money.They will do or tell you what you like to hear.To get what they want.And then on to the next,when they are finished with you. Sort of like a revolving shoe rack,Try on, then on to the next.And your tossed in the heap. |
