While reading today I saw the beauty a rock holds inside. The edges worn
smooth from the years of rolling along the path of our dreams. These
dreams from the past shine as we come closer to them, to be able to see
the chips on the shoulders wear away, and knowing how much wear and tear
this rock has sustained to become round. Rounded as the memories from
the past remind me of what to expect from the future.

To know that in time the chips that have broken off and been smoothed
over were necessary to become who I am today. As this rock seems to roll
down a hill towards a path only it knows, it becomes a part of my being,
its rough edges are no more, its size has become manageable to carry,
and I no longer need to carry it, it seems to roll along and I follow it
up the streams and down the hillsides watching it polish itself on the
sands of time. Waiting for the finished product yet knowing it will
never be finished in its shine.

Who watches the rock become stone? Who watches the stone become rounded?
Who watches this rounded stone become a gem? Only in time can I see this
rock of granite become the polished marble that we stand in awe before
and wonder what other beauty shines from within.

I have followed this rock for many years, and soon it will travel again
across these lands to a place of beauty. A beauty that I hold dear in my
heart, a beauty that holds me deep in its arms. Soon these two beauties
will become one and travel the streams of time together. Search the
riverbeds and fords for your rock and it will guide you until the
streams of time give up the battle and let the rocks roll together.

I found my Rock, and you can find yours. They are found in the strangest
places, yet they can only be found if you seek within the beauty it
holds.
