Good for someone, actually 2 people today. They dont know who I am nor do I know who they were. It makes me feel all gooey inside.
Once someone bought my dinner in the drive through and they pulled away, when we went to pay the clerk he said the guy in front of you thought yall were a cute couple and he wanted to buy your dinner. That was a sweet jester. But I really didnt need it. Its christmas, have you done something for someone in need without any expectations of anything in return? No glory, No fame, just walk up to them and do something good from your heart. Please dont say how nice I was for doing whatever it was I did. Mostly I just want ot encourage others to give from your heart. |

When my daughter was in the hospital for 5 weeks there was this man and his 3 year old son, homeless.
I would stop and get them lunch everyday on my way to the hospital. When I knew my daughter was getting out, I went and bought them a lot of non perishable foods and toys/clothes for the boy. Just watching his eyes light up everyday was all I needed. |

Every time it snows,I'll do my neighbors sidewalk, 23 yrs I have been doing this. She is 90 this year and lives alone.
Every year at Christmas I cook and freeze dinners, and give then to people I know that live alone, or are single and eat out always.(Well guess I do that more then just Christmas,I can't cook for under 6, just a habit) I post often on freecycle.com for people in need, of useful things I don't use any more. The reward of giving is the reward in it's self. |

Our work boughts gifts for a mom and her six kids so they could have a nice Christmas.
Not only things they needed, but some things they wanted. Made me feel really good inside. Last week I found keys in a mailbox a few down from mine, looked like work set keys, so I took them to give to office to see if owner came forward.Got a call from maint man here and told me owner was looking for them. When I came home from work,I went to office with keys and told them I found them. Leasing agent looks outside and sees the owner by mialboxes and he came in to office to offer me $$$ as a thank you.I told him no thanks needed. And Have a MErry Christmas. A little extra step doesnt hurt anybody.Take it and see the smile on their faces. |

1.there was this cat that was stuck in a tree, the girl was sobbing cause she couldn't get it down....
so i helped get it down with my slingshot 2. there was a transient in the corner asking for handouts.. we didn't have small change, so we asked if he could break a $50 the light turned green..didn't have time to transact..took off with the 50 and his change |

I try to live my life this way. Christmas is a great time for reminding us to give and what you get in return is immeasureable.

Ok, jumped ahead....isn't this called " Randon acts of kindness" or because of a movie "paying it forward" Either way - good for you!!!!

I bought my neighbor a cheeseburger and let her confess to me... twice. Hehe. I'm crazy... but I don't think I can handle a third time.

Isn't it amazing how good it makes you feel to help someone?! I sometimes wonder who actually benefits the most.

Well, its second hand on my part. My folks don't want presents, they have everything they want. So, for birthdays and Christmas they ask for canned goods for local food banks. So, I try to set a few bucks aside for the present. I don't know if this qualifies on the topic....

Excellenty post to get people motivated!
Always pay it forward, not to be a nice person...just do it from the heart. It's that easy. |

I guess this qualifies, Saturday a friend and I went to the bank, grabbed all the names left on the Christmas tree, then went to the local grocer where the other one was. We split the stars went shopping.
While I was in the local store I noticed the Toys for Tots box was over half empty just not something you see here. This was unusual so I asked the young girl if donations were down. She told me way way down and they were frankly worried. I figured what the heck, grabbed the credit card and went shopping for more to help fill up the box. I then decided that I was on a roll, I lost my grandfather on the 17th of December last year and it has been a tough month for me so I went to the local salvation army and donated in his name a bit of money. I didn't do this for anything other than to make me feel great. I do agree we have to do this throughout the year, we have alocal food drives about 3x a year I love giving to them. |

Last Xmas I helped a friend and his two young children move from NDakota and let them stay with me for 3 wks until the house they bought was livable..... Put a tree in the house for the kids and then took them shopping after Xmas to buy them some clothes..They cam with 4 changes of clothes...thats all..
When my daughter was in the navy, I would send boxes of goodies to her. She mentioned that some of the kids never even got a card so I would always send extra so she could share. At Xmas I would send 4 big boxes of cookies, candy, popcorn, hot chocolate, anything that could be microwaved... My way of giving back... I now volunteer at the local veterans clinic... |
