Have YOU seen 'Up'??? I gave this film to my daughter for 'Elf Day' (family tradition thang) last night ... ... It is so far beyound beautifully moving and poignant, while still amusing and ever so entertaining! It is so deep that one forgets it is PIXAR and a child's film ... It will open your heart and move you beyound belief, from the very first scene. I highly recommend this gem, best film I've seen this year and in some time; it is downright THERAPEUTIC! AND! ... This? From a dedicated cinephile snob ... SEE IT!!! OWN IT!!!] |

It's a very good movie, to be honest I like most of the CG films better than the "real" movies that are out. A lot of people blow them off by saying "they're just cartoons" and then drag me to watch crap like I Love You Man or Fast and The Furious 5 or some such.
Too bad some people can't open their minds a little more. I highly recommend this film and just about anything PIXAR has made. |

I more than heartily agree! As a serious, longterm, dedicated cinephile???...
( There were a couple of decades where I viewed a MINIMUM of ten films per week, and always 'the good schtuff!) I fell into so called 'children's movies' the last almost 12 years now w/ my daughter! It IS the highest quality viewing, I've come to remember and understand! I now embrace it w/ hungered, eager conviction! The best film art personage were once picked off into advertising of all things ... Now? They can be found in Pixar, claymation and the ilk~like! Wall-e was another amazingly brilliant film of late, w/ an intensely sound mission and heart! These films at once have beauty, artistry, musicality, meaning, a purpose and always a wonderful lesson. Again, as a clinician, I say: they are THERAPEUTIC. ESP in the now vast see of stooopid and injurious pulp, crap movies that do not rate being deemed as 'films' nor 'cinema'! Ahhhh! ...
That is so befitting, as this film sooooo endears its audience to the plight of the elderly, and the sacred chapters though the 'time' segments that are ALL our lives! It was so cleverly done, weaving in the child and the critters; there is no one's imagination this film 'forgot' to draw into the very heart of its self! I KNOW your folks will cry! ... 
... Would that I could watch it w/ my dear departed mother!!! ... 
I liked it so much, I bought it!! My parents just borrowed it from me!
