Wondering if I should ship the five or so boxes out to Denver or take them with me in my truck. It will run me about $100 to ship it all out there by the 23rd and get it on the 28th-30th, I don't have a shell over the back of my truck so it would be barren if I took it with me aside from a tarp thrown over it. Think it is better to ship it or take it?

for the time you`re gonna stand in line at the post office or wherever you`re gonna ship them out from,..
how` do the roads look like... any potential storms ? |

Ship em!

the shell is what they call a cab and if you wrap it in a tarp with no holes that is water proof and bungie it snug you should not have a problem. Just make sure you package it well so it doesnt damage with peanuts or whatever.

I'm thinking of shipping it to save me the trouble of having too figure out how to pack it snug in the back of my pick-up. Storms? Dunno, that's the fun of it. |

fun ????? Shouldn't be too bad until about Nebraska or so, since I'm taking 80 the full way through I'm not anticipating any bumps in the plan unless there is a part of 80 that happens to be closed. Given that 80 doesn't get closed all that often and I'll have enough weight in my truck I'm not anticipating any issues whatsoever. Around Christmas the weather doesn't tend to be too bad here in Illinois, I should be avoiding the terrible weather by at least a few days leaving the day after Christmas. I'm only concerned about Nebraska. |

Think it is better to ship it or take it? It's called a tarp, it costs $8 at Walmart, plus $2 for tie down straps. Sounds like you could save about $85 (tax figured) if you throw them in the back. If you really want to go cheap, go to an appliance store and see if they've got a big box you could stick in the back of your truck. |

take it

Get a pallett to lift the box off the bed floor.
Put them in a bigger box & tarp em. Keep them close to the cab & they will be fine. Pass thru Omaha/council bluffs, have a problem, get in touch. My deck overlooks the 80/29 junction. Mail me if you want my phone #. |
