I put mine in the freezer so I wouldn't have to listen to it.

if it still beeps after you pull the battery it's prolly hardwired in the ceiling

the more expensive systems usually are. that way the monitoring company can respond to em

the landlord will prolly have to have an electrician change it

It is in the ceiling, I seemed to have 'fixed' the beeping though!! I took a wire hanger, and used the curved end to gently pull apart the wires, and it stopped!!  I'll talk to the landlord tomorrow morning, and see what he can have done!!

You have a hardwired system with battery backup. If it's beeping that means the battery is dead or if it's a fire alarm/CO2 detector that the element needs to be changed.

Hey! here is an idea.Stick an M80 inside it w/ the fuse protruding from it.Light the fuse & toss that puppy through the air as if it were a Frisbee.laugh Boom!! But on a serious note, yep! it's hardwired if the battery has been pulled & it is still functioning as Qman mentioned.I have both installed where I live.Try to distract yourself as much as possible (music?) till tomm.Godspeed!Cy  flowerforyou

if I remember right it should be low voltage (24 volt) so it shouldn't be dangerous

but I wouldn't have enough faith in that assumption to touch the wires wth my fingers to find out

Mine did that, I put a new battery in and it stopped. Just taking out the battery doesn't help.

I'm disabled!! No balance standing up high. I'll wait for my brother. It seems to have stopped 'chirping' anyway! It's been 2 hours!! Leo, my bro is 6 ft tall, so in a day or so, he can put in the new battery!!
