but I find it difficult to comprehend how a paragraph can be extended to cover one twelfth of all the people alive

A long time ago , it some country town, there was a newspaper that did daily horoscopes. I would read mine at the end of the day. I would be like "whoa" as if someone had follwed me around all day.
ie...you will lose something extremely important to you today but by the end of the day it will be resolved (and it would have been my wallet or keys). That was a horoscope that spooked me.
I don't put alot of stock in them except as QM said; otherwise it seems people would read them early in the day and self fulfill them.
