Like I said before ...the witch was too late opening up the purse strings to save Jr. from leaving. He had this planned a while back before the new engine deal was made. Before that they were grossly under powered and engines blowing up on them! Just too little too late. I have always liked Truex...more power to him! He will be the top dawg for DEI and will do a great job. Jr.gave him the opportunity to race with the big boys and he has learned a lot from him.
This race win was a team strategy effort for Hamlin. Taking 2 tires was a risk but it got him position that he needed. He said his right foot was shaking wildly for the last 2 laps of the race. He was real nervous seeing Gordon in his mirror!!

yes it was a good race. lots of lead changes and an exciting ending. i love it when that happens.

Lake, you are too silly. DEI has had one of the best, if not the best engine shop since inception.
Dale had 4 children by 3 wives.
Teresa was #3, and he was married (happily) to her for almost 20 yrs.
She is the mother of his youngest child!
It was her that started DEI!
It was willed (rightly so) to her!
She has let it fall a little, but My GOD, SHE HAS BEEN A GREIVING WIDOW! From what I read she has been extremely depressed since Dale died. Friends say even avoiding going to the track at times. A place she has always been a mainstay even before meeting Dale there!
On top of that she has had to fight with Dale jr., and his sister (same mother) for control of the company. (her company)

His eldest son, the only one from that marriage (Kerry) is now the director of competition at DEI. (working for it the hard way)
Kerry is Jeffery's daddy!

Jeffery, like many in NASCAR, thinks DEI has great equipment and they prove it every race.
It isnt charity that brought RCR to DEI's engine department. It is high quality engines, which he was already using, and a strong loyalty to #3 and his family!
You can twist it however you like, but it all boils down to a very selfish, and spoiled ass Dale Jr, as well as his older controlling sister!
