I did agree to hang with him. I don't want to break my word. I just want to get to know him...as a friend. But like I said, I will tell him straight up that it's not a date.

I'm confused, if you don't want to go out with him, why are you going? You don't have to go out to dinner with someone in order to be friendly. If it makes you uncomfortable and/or embarrassed, it would be kinder if you simply told him thanks, but no thanks. Otherwise, he's going to think you're dating him and it will only end in hurt feelings- on his end.

Ha ha! Okay. Let me try to make it clear. I told the "boy" that I don't mind hanging out with him. I suggested a place to sit and chat...just to know him. I did stress "just as friends". We agreed to go to a restaurant. I was thinking he would drive his car and I drive mine to our destination, chat and eat, and then go our separate ways. But he doesn't have a car. So, I have to pick him up (which I'm sure you've already read). Now comes the killer part. He keeps acting as if we are going on a date. He's been killing my phone with text messages. He recently texted, while I was trying to go to sleep, asking if I was "looking forward to see" him "sexy". Oh...my...goodness! Really?

So to sum it up, I'm meeting him "as a friend" to get to know him...not a date. In his mind...date. I'm sure it will be the first and last time I meet this kiddo. Gosh! I could write a whole novel. I apologize.

Why being friendly leads to being misled. How in the world am I now taking a 21 year old out to dinner tomorrow?

Update: So after going crazy with this "boy" because of all this texting, I finally was able to pick him up and head off to Applebee's. Well, what could I say. Totally changed my perception of him. So I'm a sucker for tall guys. And he almost reminded me of one of the guys from Black Eyed Peas. He had this deep voice...and well. I was blown away! Maybe not head over heels for him, but he was different from the pictures I've seen of him. So, we are going to the movies tomorrow to see 2012. Guess I will see where things go from there.
