If I may pry. How or why did you come to believe or not to believe?
That is the question. |

Aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwww...may I raincheck? Please? It is 12.50pm Tuesday,
here, and between the lotus leaf, and the day, screaming at me, I can't hear myself think... Oh bother!!! I am the sum total of all my experiences...from conception to now. I have studied philosophies, religions, paddled around in them...been up to my armpits in them, and arrived to where I am now... I have buddhist/taoist, on my profile, as it gives a label...and something to mess around people's judgement systems... and I do find many of their philosophies suit me. But I am a work in progress, I hold the brush, I paint the strokes on this canvas called Lee, and as a person in the market garden does, I take a little from here, a bite from there, and constantly replenish this basket I hold, the me, that I see, the me that I am... I have fierce objections to the 'taste' of some religions, and prefer the 'willy nilly', the no label, to the fundamentalists.. |

I got tired of that devil on one shoulder, fighting with the Angel on
the other shoulder and my head in the middle. The darn devil just wanted to do the human things, you know, like enjoy life. And that lily white @$$ Angel just kept a preaching, until one day I just put friggin plugs in my ears, now I don't hear either of them, I just do what 'I' think is right. |

I hate to be so simple but the answer came to me in the flower and the
butterfly |

I only believe in the things I cannot see, and don't believe in the
things I am able to see. |

I believe because I see God in everything.
From the time I could think and remember I have seen something vast and full of glory everywhere I looked. It has led me to problems cause when I was old enough to question I had a hard time explaining why I felt that what every one was telling me was 'right' did not fit what I saw. When they told me God is in Heaven I could not understand it because I see his presense everywhere I looked. I once met a man who told me God did not exist and yet God was inside him patiently waiting for him to notice. |

For me how I came to what I believe is simple yet complex, I was a
Wiccan, raised slightly Catholic and mostly to walk the path of beauty, or the Navajo way. I am none of these, like Lee i don't care for a label to what I believe. I have recently come to know that God is indeed real, to me, and that I simply need to believe and be. I need no church, no bible, just simply to be. And thats good enough for me. |

NOT REALLY HOW IT CAME ABOUT IT JUST ONE DAY I REALIZE THAT I KNEW THAT
JESUS WAS REAL AND TRUELY THE LIVING SON OF GOD |

I came to think the way I do & follow the philosophy I follow through
many years of reading, learning & studying many different paths. I then, after being well informed & educated, chose the one that was right for me. Peace, love & wisdom |

I came to believe Christian because that is how I was called. I resisted
it, I questioned it, I have accepted it. If I were called to believe in a jewish, or buddist, or other way, I would go through the same process. I think most of us accept our faith because that was how we were called to serve. This is different than "being raised catholic...or protestant... or muslim" because 'being raised' is not the same as really accepting your calling. -Mike |
