One day as I sat musing, sad and lonely and without a friend, a voice
came to me out of the blue and said,
'Cheer up. Things could be worse.'
So , I cheered up, and sure enough,
Things got worse.

*gets up on soap box*

I was listening to the radio as I always do, and a commercial comes on
for special new clothes made for curvy women. Generally I ignore the
commercials, but something caught me at the end. June 5th is National
Woman's Confidence Day, as reported on the ad. Now I'm all for
confidence, but why just women? Why not men? I have no self confidence
so I should be included on this day, but no, I'm not a woman therefore I
don't count.

This whole month is adopt a shelter cat month too, but I don't hear it
on the radio at all, only in the news letters I get from the animal
shelters I volunteer at (its either buy one get one free, or free vet
care for a year if your interested, just ask your local shelter).

I need my own day, I need "Matthew Allen is a white poor guy who has no
girlfriend, is a virgin, and has friends all over the world but none
within 20 miles". But I'm sure anything about a "white" holiday would
be banned, cause its not a minority. There needs to just be a human
holiday, where everyone celebrates being alive, who cares if your
different colors, different culture etc. But no, it has to be a certain
selection of people (never white guys!)

So while everyone celebrates their own made up holiday, I'll be out
there trying to get cats some homes, which is a cause that should last
all year instead of a month.

*gets off soap box and leaves*

can i quit life like a job n start a new one?!?!?!?!
