Here are a few thing you could do to be safer on the first date.

Let a friend or relative know where you're going.

Both he and she should use their own transportation on a first
date.Don't shared your address and allowed them to pick you up.

Plan to meet in a very public place, such as a coffee shop, or
restaurant.

Carry a cell phone with you, and be prepared to leave if things go
beyond your comfort zone.

I worked in a night club and if someone didn't feel safe thay would ask
us walk them to their vehicles.


Have a game plan for someone to call and check in with you to make sure
you're ok and have arrived home safely after the date.

Watch alcohol consumption on your first meeting with someone, and I
recommend not leaving a drink unattended.

yeah you were lucky. We all did those kinds of things when we were

I don't date so I'll probally be shot by a disgruntled co-worker.

I meet them at a public place, always take my car, and I give someone
their name and telephone number and show their profile to someone who
can access my computer.

Plan ahead let someone know where you are meeting at, no parks where
people are spread out, make it a resturant. Another suggestion is to
have a friend call your cell at a certain time, make sure you answer,
and have a code word if things are going bad. That way you can keep
things as calm as possible stay where your at, and then when your
friend(s) arrive take off with them.

I definetly meet out in a public place that generally has a lot of
people around. I made the mistake of going to 'his' house to meet a guy
once for a first date. He thought he was going to get 'a piece' right
away. After saying no, he started calling me a few unpleasant names to
say the least. Needless to say, I never talked to him again. It just
goes to show you can never be too careful.
