I'm trying one out right now, granted its only a few hours away, but different states. I don't know if I would try it with anybody, but we have a lot of history together.

They are not for me & from what I've seen most don't work!

Same here. I'm not going more than about 6 blocks anymore. Maybe 7 if the weather is good.

The prospect of it was very intriguing, something I'd wanted to do for a long time. I didn't get it, but it was worth the effort, otherwise I would have regretted not trying.

Well here I must be very honest. I live in the UK at the moment and the thought of being in anything more than a platonic relationship with someone in the US, where most of you live,is a very daunting prospect, much as I really want to be in a wholesome and authentic relationship. I have met some really tremendous ladies on this site and the relationships are cherished. But the prospects for a more in depth relationship are very great. I have considered the costs. The love that one who could be in a relationship that has such obstacles must be very great indeed. But I do believe that such is possible, in spite of the obstacles. Sometimes ....the adventure has to start somewhere...

Long distance relationships fail about as much or less than local relationships do.

They don't ever work because.... what the?

Too bad that we can't use living to close to somebody as an excuse. That would be pretty easy as well.

The key is not starting a relationship before you've spent a good amount of time together, then of course if both parties are really into each other, plans are made.

If not, then what value does the relationship have besides fantasy?

I say this with the assumption that both people have the mental fortitude and character to stay committed to only one other.
