McDonalds has a big focus on children with playgrounds, toys with meals etc. they make millions/billions catering to children.

Sad, isn't it?

I call it lazy parents. It's less expensive to cook a healthy meal but no one seems takes the time to cook. It's all about eating out now. sad2

Most children do not know what healthy food is .... hell, most parents do not know healthy food. slaphead

How much will eating out change when Mc Donalds starts buyin their beef from south america? They say that the U.S. cannot keep up w/ their demands so the are buyin food from S.Amer. cause its cheaper... its also unregulated, not tested for parasites..and a few other things. YUK..eccoli burger anyone?

One of the most interesting concepts in the book "Fast Food Nation" is that McDonald's is one of the biggest factors in food quality and food safety, because they are one of the biggest purchasers of of ground beef. Trust me, if the overall quality of the imported beef is poor, sales at McDonald's will suffer, and that will not be tolerated. Every time there is an E.coli scare, sales of ground beef products suffer, including Mc.D's. All the fast food companies want a decent, safe, beef product, because to sell a unsafe product will destroy the company.

or they should be taxed
or those that indulge in these fast foods should have their employment at stake for eating these foods

some employers do put employment at stake. they will not hire people who engage in unhealthy practices such as obesity, smoking, drug use, etc. others make them pay charging more for health care. insurance companies likewise assign higher risks and premiums for obesity and smoking. it's all a matter of making personal responsibility an incentive.
