What are some headlines that would make you NOT want to email someone? Especially if it's a woman's profile?

Anything that contains the self-referential terms "Hot" or "Sexy," etc., is going to be one I skip. I'm not going to accept her own self-assessment blindly, especially since I so rarely tend to agree with them.

Any mention of alcohol, or kids. That's automatic skip.

Anything that's an obvious cliche, i.e., the "Prince Charming" line or the "Long walks on the beach" line, etc. I've already seen all of that stuff in 458,992,032 other profiles.

Prince Charming seems to scare lots of guys....maybe I should come up with something using that?

However, with my luck, some idiot will decide he really is prince charming and email me anyway.sad

You could try it, but you know how that goes -- I keep reading posts from women saying that guys don't read the profiles anyway....!

And then, the guys like me, who DO want to read them, can't find any with anything in them to read....!

Have you thought about claiming that your body has been destroyed and has been replaced with something that looks disturbingly like a large green filing cabinet but with your head on top of it?

I think that would mess up the sexual hypotheticals for a lot of these guys....

laugh laugh Nope, hadn't considered that, but wouldn't they email then to ask how it happened? grumble I had a headline once "I have a collection of human skulls on my headboard" some loser emailed me about that, trying to make conversation. So then a few days ago I had, "They say goldfish have no memory, I guess their lives are pretty much like mine." So last night, another loser emailed me about that one, again trying to make conversation. I want something that is a total turn off, that will make them say ewwww, I don't want to talk to her, or nudge her, or add her as a favorite, ever. Nothing funny or interesting or makes them wonder and want to ask questions, but I swear, I can't come up with anything.....frustrated

So writers DO have some practical uses, after all!! Well, except for James Michener.

From some of the male member's profile I have read:

I am the God of Oral Pleasure

I am Mr. Right

Impress me

Lokng 4 a smrt womin

Those are the laughable ones. The ones that are of no interest (and a turn off) are headlines regarding their children.

Example: My children are my life slaphead (be an individual for hell's sake)

The topic of children should have no business in the profile of a parent's dating profile. Indicate you have them in the details portion and leave the rest for grown up content.

Any head line that starts with "Must" like must like dogs, cats, horses ect. would make me run the other way if I was a guy. I would think a man would be looking for the person not their livestock.

Oh yea the ones who say you "have" to have a "Harley". Why don't they just say you better be able to afford expensive toys for me.

Or the ones that say so and so's Mom. Come on why not just wrap yourself up in baby diapers. Have and identity of a woman and a person too.

Yeah, that's a red flag for me, too. It comes across as if the person only sees herself as an adjunct to another person, and that seems unhealthy to me. Did she not exist before that other person was born?

"Shy but warm up quickly." That doesn't sound very shy to me, when I was shy years ago, I certainly didn't warm up quickly.

There are a number of variations on this, but they all boil down to the same thing -- "I'm shy at first but I talk a lot more once I get to know you." I think 94.7% of all profiles have this in one form or another.
