I didn't go all the way to Alaska but did go to greater Tacoma and it definitely helps to meet a good guy when the competion is heated up by a disparity ratio of men to women. Probably why women always do better in a university situation rather than a community colledge. But you need to be prepared to live in a male dominated society and that is not as easy or safe as it sounds.

That will probably be the worst thing for me really, living in a completely different society than what I am used to. What if I do something I shouldn't and off of a sudden I'm persona non grata? I just want someone who will show me the ropes and be there when I need it.

You'll do fine..Southern Gals always do!
Be yourself...and just listen a little more than usual...and you'll catch on quickly. There are 11 distinct cultures in Alaska (native cultures) and they speak about 20 languages...and different dialects. So, hardly anyone knows everything...you'll fit in well. And good luck finding a guy to keep you warm! happy

Then I would talk to your Mother and your Grandmother because they have lived in a male dominated society.

I would say just remember if you play with the big dogs you have to grow some balls and not cry when they hurt your feelings or try to fall back on the vajayjay. Then they will respect you to at least some degree. Don't doubt for a minute though that men do talk and your reputation will preceed you or follow you which ever is appropriate.

I think you are dreaming if you really think someone can show you the ropes. It is like trying to teach you to be a man and that is not going to happen. But you can be a woman and still fit into the society there. And be treated well. Just use common sense and avoid dangerouse situations. Don't embarrass anyone you don't have to .
