I met Janis Joplin years ago around a concert she performed in, and yes she has a voice to never be forgotten, but probably one of the most messed up disaster going somewhere to happen people you could meet.
So stoned she reeked of alcohol and dope and body oder it was difficult to be in the same room. How she could perform on cue was hard to figure out because she didn't appear to be able to focus on anything trying to interview her. Nervous, exhausted, I wondered if she would burn down the place she was staying around her. It was clear someone was feeding her enough drugs to kill a bull because she was definitely not able to care for herself or respond. Not a woman to be appealing in anyway I could identify. Sorry if it bursts any bubbles. |

I turned 10 the day she died. |
