I am very doubtful whether history shows us one example of a man who, having stepped outside traditional morality and attained power, has used that power benevolently.

Hi cy. But then, who is to define traditional morality? I know you are quoting old C. S. Lewis there, but in this day and age, with so many different ideas of morality from so many religions and pundits, that in itself could cause ambiguity in definition.

G'morn.{{{}}}I completely understand the point that U have made & I respect it of course.I have a great deal of respect & liking to-wards this particular scholar & I thought that I might toss 1 of his memorable quotes out there.I'm currently reading a trilogy of D.Koontz & he happened to bring this 1 up.Of course the down turn to such memorable quotations from many writers, scholar's,etc.is that there words can be dissected from various angles such as U have mentioned.Thank You! for reading & commenting.tty/soon.Godspeed!Cy  flowerforyou

G'morn.{{{}}}Thank You! for reading & commenting sweetheart.I'm glad that U enjoyed this particular quotation.I truly enjoy his writing & agree on many standpoints that he has made public throughout his highly successful career.I will leave U w/a Wiki link in case U want to read more from him.Sadly he went to his grave very quietly & unheard for the most part due to the fact that he had died on the same day that JFK was assassinated.tty/soon.Godspeed!Cy  flowerforyou
