Yea I am pretty sure smoking as a teenager pretty much ruined my teeth. That and several traumas to the mouth as a kid and a mom with a special needs kid.

Pregnancy and health issues definately take a toll on teeth.

Just use hydrogen peroxide on your teeth unless they are using laser.

Now see, I've always heard putting peroxide in your mouth was harmful, although I used to do that at two different times when I had an abcess and couldn't get to the dentist right away. It worked great for the infection, and I never had any reaction or bad things happen from that either.

I think, like with anything, there can be points for and against, it kind of comes down to a personal preference, what you can tolerate, what you are willing to risk and to what point, and a little bit of trial and error.

Peroxide is mostly water.. You shouldn't swallow it but even then it won't kill you.. Not sure what it will do to your insides but my brother is fine and he drank a whole bottle when he was about 14... slaphead

This has some good information:

http://www.animated-teeth.com/teeth_whitening/t5a-whitening-side-effects.htm

http://www.animated-teeth.com/teeth_whitening/t1_teeth_bleaching.htm

I did try a box of it a few years ago. I didn't have any problems with using one box.

Thanks Winx, I just reviewed this website, great info, I wrote it down for further reference

I have had my teeth whitened by the dentist, and it did cost about $500. It takes a very long time and your gums are all covered over because the bleach would burn them. Well worth it. I would do it again. bigsmile

My grandmother used Arm and Hammer baking soda and she had white teeth until she passed away at age 100.

I've used "Crest Strips", and noticed that one of my incisors was a bit chipped on the end. Don't worry, ladies, my fuggliness remains intact, however!laugh

I could feel the hydrogen peroxide in the "Crest Strips" eating away at my stomach lining...mad
